Some interesting stuff, but nothing that makes me say, "Just gotta have it." - which is probably good since I'm still saving for a 70-200 f/2.8L IS II USM.

The fisheye zoom makes me happy... in theory. I'd love to test it out.

I'd love that fisheye but I'm betting that it's going to be in the $3K range and I've got a house and way too many other toys to buy already.  haha.

I think I saw $1200 mentioned somewhere, making it the least expensive of the announced lenses.

Can say for sure but I can't see it being that cheap.  the 15mm L is a $2200 lens and this being a fisheye zoom, couldn't have been the easiest thing to design so I'm just guessing it's going to be high.

If it is only $1200 then I'm selling my 17-40 and my fisheye and buying one.

There is no 15mm L.  There's a 15mm f/2.8 fisheye and there's a 14mm f/2.8L that is not a fisheye.  The 14mmL is around the price you mention but the 15mm fish is around $650.  And this new fish zoom is only an f/4 while those other two are f/2.8.

ETA:  If you do a google search on "canon 15mm fisheye zoom price" you'll get several hits saying $1400.

yeah, I meant the 14mm L not 15.  I didn't say fisheye.

I'm not saying I could be wrong, it's just my guess.   Like I said, I could only hope it will come through with a $1200 price tag because both of my other lenses have gone up quite a bit since I bought them so I can sell them for more than I paid and it should cover the cost of the new one.

I have my fingers crossed.

Yeah, prices on lenses are nuts these days.  Somebody needs to crash teh Japanese economy so the Yen-to-Dollar rate goes back where it belongs.

Did they release their EF quasi-cine style lenses that have been rumored for a while?

The new fish and 70-300L should be nice. The super teles might as well not even exist to mere mortals. The 60D is the end of the awesome xxD line. Canon is now compromising the still photography functionality of their cameras to promote video (video=yawn). The 60D is dumbed way down from its 50D successor.

I agree the cost of the new super lenses would put me in the zone of "do I want to buy a new lens or a new car" and can't afford either.  It does look like the 60D is an upgraded Rebel rather than the successor of the 50D. I could care less about having video in my camera or in camera special effects processing.  The only upgrade I see is the 18 MP sensor and the rest is bells and whistles for the soccer moms to play with; it's certainly not in build quality.  I'm hanging on to my 50D and if I upgrade it will most likely be the 7D or its replacement.

Glancing at the specs, it would appear the 50D is a better camera.

Plastic Body?
No thanks.

With the 7D capturing the mid range market (used to be the domain of the X0D series (I have a 30D)), it looks like the 60D is the upgraded Rebel
