WTF, it is cool how the graphics are, like cartoony or anime. But so far I am not impressed. I wish I would have went with another game, I hope it develops more past the first hour of game play.
Anyone else playing this? |
| Just finished the story with a hunter. It doesn't really get better, stays about the same, it's a rpg grind type game, there are some funny parts but it's not that awesome,it was worth the 40 bucks though I'll probably play it at least 1 or 2 more times with different toons. |

While I started out really enjoying it, my excitement faded quickly. Very repetitive... and they way overdid it with the Skags. Unless you're driving a vehicle, you end up battling a shit ton of them every time you want to get somewhere. It's like playing Fallout 3 and having to fight a bunch of radscorpions everywhere you go.

I have some credit with amazon I need to use by the end of Jan. Borderlands, L4D2, The Saboteur and MAG are what I got to decide between. |

not really sure why this was made separate from the 5 page thread, but here goes:
The graphics do not bother me 1 bit. A game finally took call to action to have legitimate gameplay concerns over how pretty they can make it seem. This game was not meant to blow you away graphically, it was the quests and 600k+ weapons that would want you to keep leveling up as you progress that would keep you hooked. The skags are just another common enemy to fight along the way. Would you rather it be like fallout and drive for 15 minutes before ever finding something to kill? Skags are also the easiest to kill, wait until you start getting into the armored spider type creatures with elemental attack behind them. It goes above and beyond fallout 3 as fallout worried too much about how you interacted with others. This is more of a FPS than an RPG while fallout was opposite IMO. This game is definitely worth it. If you get passed level 10, you will understand why as more and more weapons/perks become available to you. Partner up with a buddy or 3 and you will enjoy it even more. |

I brought it and couldn't be happier with it. You only really notice the cel shaded graphics when your in the sunlight, the rest of the time I dont even notice it. Guns, guns and more guns, killing stuff is always fun and did I mention the guns? Great game imo

There's no sense of immersion, no sense that the world you're in is real, no sense that you're doing anything other than playing a game. (I will say though, I love the graphics.) If I were you, I'd pull the trigger on MAG. That looks sweet.

You'll get more replay value out of it then any other game from a multiplayer standpoint. BL is only ok. Should have cost about $30-$35, certinally not $40-$50 that some places are charging. The cell shading is ok, certinally doesn't make the game look like it could considering that they used the UT3 engin as the base for this game... and the 4 player co-op limitation that seems to be hardcoaded in kinda bites as well. This game would be fun in a 6-8 player co-op with slightly better graphics, larger areas, better weapons control (I.E. weapons accuracy needs to be fixed), and better overall networking so I don't have to get into my router and open up ports or set myself on a DMZ just to host a game. Almost all other Multiplayer games do not require this and this isn't a limitation of the UT3 engin so I don't know why they require the end-user to do this. Just frustrating. Now, with all of that being said I think the overall game is well thoughtout, just needs a bit of polishing and perhaps some mod support. |
Great game imo
