| Should I? I'm debating. |

I've been finishing up the quests in FO3. I've been debating on CoD:WaW or L4D on the trade in today. Zombies is always good, but I'm not sure yet. If you get WaW you get to still kill zombies after you beat the campaign. In L4D all you do is kill zombies. I like both of the games but after a while L4D got boring for me. |

Can this be played by two players splitscreen? And will it be fun or impossible? Do the other two players get inserted as bots? Me and a buddy get together and play games splitscreen (GoW, GoW2, Army of Two, Halo 3) and this is a candidate for our next game. Yes, you can play split screen and the other two players will be replaced with rather useful bots. They might not always act smart, but they have a knack of always knowing where the special infected are, which helps a lot. The AI of Zoey always grabs a sniper rifle and is dead nuts accurate with it too. Keep that in mind. |

Play with ARFCOM members and you will enjoy the game more. Yes it has a single player aspect, but the game really shines when playing with REAL people.
I don't like playing online games. Is this game still decent if played solo? This. Online games with Haloheads suck. Online games with Team Arfcom are generally much better. Besides, ambushes work much better with 4 pipe bomb throwers than one. |

I can't play online it is great single or split screen co-op my little bro and I finished it on advanced and now my daughter and I are trying it on expert There is only about 4hrs worth of play as a single player. It could be just considered the training for co-op play online. Zombies chase pipe bombs - who knew... BTW - Buy online as a download direct from Steam its 25% less. There is only the install disk and a card showing the movement commants in the retail box. |

Quoted: I'm debating too, but I don't like buying a game before trying it. I've tried the Xbox demo and liked it, but I can't seem to find the PC demo, which is what I'll be buying it for. Anyone know where I can get it? Seems they took it off of Steam. The demo was available for a week before the game was released and then the demo just disappeared right off your games list... |

Yeah, I just said fuck it and bought it on a whim at the store today, installing it now, actually ;) Thanks, though. |

I bought it for the XBOX360 on Saturday, and I already have it on the EE.
The game is way too short, The only creature that is challenging is the Tank There should be a way to break out of a Hunter/Smoker hold The game is way too short It really lacks variety in weapons Its too repetitive It should cost $40 at the maximum for the shortness of the campaign Valve is going to offer DLC at a premium price instead of shipping a longer game. The format is the same: Kill some zombies, kill a special zombie, kill the horde, avoid witch, kill some zombies, kill the horde, kill special zombie, call for help on radio, kill the horde, kill a tank, break for ammo, kill the horde, kill the tank, end the level in less than 1 hour. While L4D is fun, the length of the campaign is ridiculous for the price paid. |

I rented this last night for me and my friend to try out. We set it on Easy and played through all 4 campaigns in about six hours. While it was fun, I don't see a lot of replay value in it for us (we only do split screen co-op).
Too few guns. Too short overall. I can only carry one pipebomb? Smokers and hunters are a bit too powerful. I did enjoy playing with the gas cans. Once I figured out what to do with them, I would set them up in choke points and burn entire waves of zombies down. I also got the Towering Inferno and Burn The Witch achievements by accident, I was trying to burn everything. We'll go back to GoW 2 Horde Mode now. |

The game is not made for single player/split screen nearly as much as multiplayer co-op. |

Playing the game single player is almost pointless and coop can only be so fun. |

Playing the game single player is almost pointless and coop can only be so fun. I still like the game, in fact I really dig it. But if you're playing only single player, or just doing coop then yeah it can get pretty predictable. Even vs. is getting predictable because there are only the two maps, but at least it has the variable of human players on both teams. I have a pretty good time with the Versus mode online. Like any multiplayer game, this is where your ability to work together can really make or break your game. That guy that always goes Rambo on coop? He's Hunter bait. You won't find him locked in a closet either. You die in vs. and you're out until the next round. Same goes for that other guy that's always way behind everyone looking for shoe sales or whatever it is the lollygaggers do, except it's usually a Smoker that gets that dude. And because humans plan better than the AI director, the zombie team generally makes things real exciting for the others to keep them from rescuing the loner. Anyway, I hope there will be some DLC (DownLoaded Content) goodness come of this, and more than just a single map pack consisting of a couple maps and that's the last you ever hear from Valve on the subject. |
|
Valve is usually really good about offering enhancements to their multiplayer products for several years after the product is released. Team Fortress 2 is a perfect example of this. They've more than doubled the number of maps available since the game launched, and have continued to tweak other aspects of the game.
I'm sure Left 4 Dead will prove to be the same. I'm expecting to see additional maps, weapons, and other content over the next couple of years. Hopefully we'll see more weapons sooner rather than later. I don't think at least one more tier of weapons is uncalled for. I also anticipate seeing versus support for the third and fourth "movies" relatively soon. Valve pushed a big update last week and I'm disappointed that versus support wasn't added for the final half of the game. -James |

From what I've heard, they're making Dead Air and Death Toll Vs. Friendly.... because there were too many weak points in the maps I guess, glitches maybe???
Another map I heard they're making is the DAWN OF THE DEAD mall... You have to make it through the whole thing, which will be epic. Wopasaurus is my gamertag.... feel free to add me, I play all the time. |

I would love an Dawn of the Dead mall map. |
| Who wants to play on PC with me? I just got it last night and it is EPIC. I've got Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, and can get whatever else people have. SteamID = Pr0ph3t and/or [email protected] |

Play on Expert when one campaign takes 5 hours assuming you beat it at all. |
