I don't know where else to post this, it isn't a war gaming question, but maybe someone can help me. This is taken from my post on the Playstation 3 Forums which I've gotten tons of views but no answers:

To preface this post: I've searched the forums about this problem, the only problem I'm noticing others are having is with the servers not responding.

I'm able to get socom (ps2) to recognize my PS3 ethernet card (wired or wireless) and I even saved the network data to the HD. Here comes the interesting part, I cannot get ANY EA game to recognize my Ethernet Card even when I try to use the Socom saved network data information it tells me no compatible hardware is connected. I've tried it (the network setup) with Madden 08 and NCAA 08 (Both PS2 games) so I can play with my buddy, or I'd just buy the PS3 version. He's spent quite a bit of money getting his PS2 online capable, so I don't want to let him down. Any ideas?

Basically I can't get the network setup portion to recognize my network adapter.

I have an 80GB PS3

Thanks for your assistance,
-Nick

Nick,

I do not have a PS3, but have done a ton of research as to which system to get.  I have decided on the same setup as you so I can run some PS2 games.  I learned a lot from us.playstation.com  they also have a link to an area to check to see what games are compatible with the PS3 or if there  are certain issues.  There is a forum there as well for help.

Yea, I've been through all that. The game is compatible. The internet isn't working on it, that's all.
