Okay I have no idea why BF2 keeps crashing on me.

Like within 5 minutes of gametime boom it crashes.

Vid drivers and game patches are updated.

Any ideas would be friggin sweet.

There you go. You should be able to find what you need in one of the stickies. Hope that helps.

* Beside making sure your drivers are up to date.
* What model/brand video card do you have?
* What are you BF2 video settings?
* What are your system specs (CPU, Ram, HD)?

* Monitor your video card temperature also.

I found out just two weeks ago why my BF2 was lagging and freezing on me of late. I loaded an App to monitor the temperatures and noticed that my video card was over heating badly. I thought maybe dust had built up around the cooling fins of my graphics card and it was time to blow out the dust from inside the PC with my air compressor. I probably do this 2-3 times a year to keep the PC running cooler.

When I pulled the GFX card out (less than a year old), I noticed that one of the fan-blades from the cooling fan on my graphics card had broken off and jammed the cooling fan to a complete stop. So, my card had no ACTIVE cooling...when it reached a critical temp, BF2 would act up and eventually freeze. I just pulled the broken piece of plastic fan blade off and tested the fan. Fan was spinning fine with one of 16 or so blade missing. Gfx card temps returned to normal, and I've yet to have any more problems.

I have a 7600 GT,
Running Video on low just so game play is faster.
3200 X2 AMD and 1g of RAM
It was playing fine the other day.
Oh well I just finished a format and I am reinstalling it.
Going to see what happens.
I wish Nvidia's driver site wasn't down right now.

Hardware-wise your fine. Shouldn't have any problems playing BF2. Clear out your BF2 game cache, while your at it.
