Not sure when these changes occurred but they're nice nonetheless. Did a quick search, couldn't find a SWTOR thread here, may be one in GD but w/e.

For those who know, when SWTOR went F2P they put a lot of restrictions on free players.  Those who previously subscribed and went F2P were put as "preferred status" but weren't really given much of anything over F2P status. I could be wrong, and maybe my account wasn't working as intended, thees is my observations.  They aren't all of the changes, just the changes that were the largest complaint I had.

Previously you were locked into 2 character slots.  Those of us who played and had more than 2 characters had to select 2 "active" characters.  You also were locked into a default single hotbar for abilities. You could unlock more slots and hotbars with cartel coins, and still can.

Now with preferred status (spending $5 on the game ever) allows up to 6 active characters, and 4 Hotbars.  There's plenty of other stuff but those were my main complaints.  It was severely restricted and I find it hard to play with 1 hotbar and restricting access to 2 characters.

Again, I could be wrong.  But in the off chance I'm not, this is good to know for people who were in a similar situation regarding the hotbars and character slots.

Played SWTOR on release and had the top level gear in one of the better guilds at a few months into the game. Almost felt bad playing a Darkness Assassin in PvP since I was unkillable. SWTOR lacked serious end game content and PvP wasnt balanced. The Rakghoul even was the only cool thing they did in 3 months to give players something to do. I got a black and green rakghoul crystal and then about a week later I cancelled my sub since the only think I found myself doing was dailies and raping in PvP.

Fast forward 2 months, i decided to give it another try. After a week it still wasnt fun so i sold my crystal for $15 and then cancelled my sub again. Never been back to play and definitely wasnt interested when the F2P model not only inhibits but cripples any sort of fun to be had by making it so you cant even play the game. Any company that thinks its remotely smart to limit you to 1 action bar is just straight up stupid and bioware has shown  that they make cool story lines but suck at creating a balanced MMO that contains content that keeps players around. Hence the nickname TORtanic.

Just my 2 cents on SWTOR.
