Sensors and weapons work just like in real life, with all their strengths and weaknesses. Units move, detect, fight and win or die based on what their systems can and cannot do. Electronic warfare and technological levels can tilt the balance of battle. The weather can be your best ally and your worst enemy. The terrain, both overland and undersea, can hide you from the enemy but also can block your weapons from firing. Thermal layers, convergence zones, surface ducting, the deep sound channel and factors such as water salinity and temperature may decide the sub vs ship duel. Is this going to be like the old Harpoon series? I had a lot of fun playing those games. |

Giving the state of the gaming industry today, $80 is a lot of money to risk. "You get what you pay for" real means nothing these days when people at throwing $80+ at games that aren't even out of alpha development(Planetary Annihilation) |

True enough. I doubt the cost will be coming down, though. Not really a game for the masses. More for wargamers who want a high fidelity, real time battle sim. I'm all about that...but not for almost a cnote. I've put over 200hrs in beta testing this sucker and when the community starts posting scenarios ranging from individual engagements to the opening week on the Central Front, well, the cost will be hours per penny. |
