| I just picked up an Xbox 360 but I still have a tube TV. What can you guys recommend 23-24" range? Needs HDMI for the Xbox and DVI for my computer. Around $200 would be great. Thanks. |

I can't really recommend anything specific. However, when my tv crapped out I used a couple cheap flat screens temporarily. I was really surprised at how good the picture was on both of them. One was a small Sylvania and the other was an Insignia. They both were LCD.
I couldn't believe how good the pictures looked on both and xbox was really good too. HDMI cables really make a difference. I have a subscription to consumer reports. I'd be happy to look something up for you if you would like. |

| Haha.... No problem. One thing that I forgot the mention is that there was a pretty big difference I noticed between the cheaper screens and the nicer tvs. That was the viewing angle. They looked great if I was looking at them directly in front. However, if I moved to the side hardly at all they washed out pretty fast. |

I picked up a Dynex 24" HDTV at Best Buy. It's $149 but I had some gift cards so I got it for about $100.
I think this is the same model. I bought mine around December 2011 so maybe they have a newer version of it. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dynex%26%23153%3B+-+24%26%2334%3B+Class+/+LCD+/+1080p+/+60Hz+/+HDTV/2970158.p?id=1218367940239&skuId=2970158&st=dynex&cp=1&lp=9 edit. I don't think it has a dvi connection though! Ooops. |

I've got a 24" Samsung, and I really like it. I think the response rate is 5ms.
I'd suggest not getting one with built-in speakers; I've found that sound from those tends to suck. A separate cheap set of 2.1 speakers will probably sound better, and you can move them where you want them. Plus, I don't know about you but I do most of my gaming with headphones anyway. |

For $200? Nothing much in that range that I would suggest.
For new, these would be 2 of the top contenders. Acer S231H - 23" LCD (LED Backlit) - 1xHDMI + 1xDVI, 5ms response. Low brightness (250 nits), decent contrast for LED (12,000,000). or Asus VS238H-P - 23" LCD (LED backlit) - 1xHDMI + 1xDVI - 2ms (Gray-to-Gray) response. Lower brightness (250 nits), but higher contrast (50000000:1). Only 24" I'd recommend (new) for under $200 (without snagging a Dell U2410M with discounts): Asus VW246H - 24" LCD (non-LED Backlight) - 1xHDMI + 1xDVI, 2ms (Gray-to-Gray), Low brightness (300 nits) and contrast (1000:1). |
