Some early game play footage when it was still in development. If it got secretly pick up and is in development, great. If not, Lucas needs to give us either this or another KOTOR. Dude, you can play SWTOR on a $600 rig. You can run it on a i5 build with a card as low as a nvidia gtx 450 with 4gb of ram. It doesn't take much to run it, or starcraft for that matter. I have ran swtor on 2 machines I wouldn't have really thought were capable, one is an old original i5 build with a fermi gtx 450, 4gb ram, runs swtor and SC2 maxed out. A Laptop with a dual core 1.2ghz processor and I can't recall the nvidia but it's a fairly high end, it's an alienware gaming mini laptop (yeah it's as big as a netbook lol) and it can play them maxed out. I don't think many people will have issues running SWTOR...have you tried? As far as Lucas goes, he is officially retired. He said he won't be doing anything new, he basically told everyone to fuck off lol. |

I’m also not sure about getting into MMO’s I’m going to try and put some funds away for a new one but it’s tough due to student loans, the economy sucking ass, gas prices, and gun stuff getting in the way (want to start reloading). I will say I do like how Bioware makes his games. I wish Lucas would give them complete freedom to make games if they wish as long as they stick to lore and Lucas can sit back and collect. Only if it was a perfect world….or Lucas not being a dick.

If only lol. SWTOR has been running these weekend trial things the past few weeks. It's running right now, depending on how fast your internet is, you could play until Monday morning early AM. http://www.swtor.com/news/news-article/20120404-0 Now, as I said, they did it all through March, so there's no telling when it will end, if it ever will end. But, regardless, it's a good way to A: see if the game will run, and B: try it and see if you like it. I've gotten a couple non-MMO/MMORPG players addicted to the game >:). These were guys who have never played anything like this and were strictly FPS gamers. The lure of the dark side is strong  .
I'm sure there will be a weekend pass coming up next weekend as well, but here's what I'd do. If you get this today, register an alternate account, with an alternate e-mail, don't use the one you'd use if you wanted to play the game and what not, save all that for the next step. That way you can download the game and see if it will even play before this weekend pass is over. When you register, you may want to use a fake name so you can register your real account if it works for the next event. If it works, catch the next weekend pass with the "real" stuff, the e-mail you want, character names you want, etc. Anything you use in the trial will stay on that account, and when/if you buy the game, they'll be there. That way you can see with a "fake," so to speak, account just to see if the game will even run, and then able to get the full 4 days of the weekend pass the next go round. Just a thought :). I'm always looking to get more players. If you decide to check it out, make a character Empire side ( dark side ) on the Wall of Light server. We'll help you out, all of us, minus 3 I think, are Arfcommers. ****edit to fix link**** |
