yep!
just now getting into online, but mostly just do single player making my own custom missions and what not.

I have also been downloading addons like crazy, Picked up the Fashur Kyber map and F-117/F-15E and set up a Gulf War 1 with scuds and AA. Just havent been able to get the bombing right with the F-117.

ArmA II is a great game, not so great online support.  Wish it was better.  Too laggy, if you're playing against or with real players, they're jumping all over the place.

I enjoy it, just bah, needs a better net code lol.

Yep, to be competitive in the market arma needs to have a better multiplayer.

You need to be pretty deep into understanding modding the game to play on most online servers. And that's beyond most of the gaming market.

I need to build a new computer for arma 3.

Perfect. I'm going to come to you when I get ready to put some addons on there. That stuff is going right over my head. I'm installing Combined Operations. I'm assuming you have OA?

yeah I got the combined ops package,I have acutally started replaying the campaigns now that I have really got the controls/support interface and flying stuff figured out.

I have only played domination a couple times, its pretty fun when get a good group of people.

As for the addons, I have been using the non-recommended way of installing them and it has worked fine but it has got to the point I installed to many I was was having stuff not work like it was supposed to.  so I am slowly in the process of deleting addons I dont use and putting ones I do into the recommended way of using addons.

Once you get everything installed and figured out check out Armaholic.com they have tons addons and forums and FAQ's for just about anything you could ever want to do in the game.

I play over on the SimHQ server.  We have a regular get together every Monday and Thursday for more tactical oriented missions.  All other nights the server is open to play whatever missions you want to that are on the server.

i used to play at tactical gamer,  the depth is great when you get 80 people doing multiple roles and spec ops stuff using the gear the right way over an 8 hour mission , im still learning how to use everything . insurgency PVP is great , playing both sides.

Yeah, a great way to learn the vehicles is to play on an unlocked/unranked EVO map.  We have one on our server that one of the members scripted a bunch of fun vehicle scripts into, like turning the C-130J's into AC-130's.  A ton of fun.

Very good in many areas, horribly bad in many other areas. I would recommend buying it.

Still a must have for anyone on this site. And it is the only realism centric shooter that has been released in recent years (RO2 was a failure so it doesn't count). ArmA 3 looks to be the only tactical shooter on the horizon... pretty sad.

Yeah, so I can't find a server that I can join. Where are the non mod servers?!

As far as the six-updater.. do I just install that, and it will let me joing public "modded" servers? ( does it install the neccessary mods to enter that server?)

the learning curve is steep at first.   find a good group like tacticalgamer.com , get on their teamspeak server and they will walk you thru set up . 15th meu and 7th cav are all good training groups and walk you thru everything.
