Asking here, because all the keyboards I'm looking at are listed as "for game play"

I have an inventory report I run for work, that has 2 columns, and the computer fills in a quantity of at least 1, sometimes higher of an order quantity.  I manually go over this report, and change everything to '0", then look over what its telling me to order and change the quantity as needed.  The report looks at 30 numbers per page, so I'm typing 0<down-arrow> 0<down-arrow> 0<down-arrow> ...... 30 times in a row.

There is another column where I type in 99<down-arrow> 99<down-arrow>......30 times also.

I run this report once a month, and i'm kind of sick of typing 0<down-arrow>, and 99<down-arrow>

Looking at macro-programmable keyboards, and Logitech makes a gaming keyboard the Logitech G110 that says "Twelve programmable G-keys
Three macros per key let you configure up to 36 unique functions per game, including single keypresses or complex macros. You can even create macros on the fly."

Anyone have one of these?

Could I easily program one of the "G" keys to do 0<down-arrow> x 30 and another to do 99<down-arrow> x 30?

Yes, you can write macros for the G keys that will type a number and down arrow.

My boss uses a Logitech G13 gameboard at work for various functions like copy, paste, insert text block and so forth.  The G13 gameboard is somewhat more advanced than the G110 that you're looking at, but it's the same principle.

So yes, they're designed for gaming, but no, their uses are not limited to gaming.
