Ok so here is the deal. I am a fat bastard who overeats. I have been big since 3rd grade basically. I am thick by nature as well, just naturally stong and stout is maybe a better word. I am 27 and I am between 5ft 11in and 6ft 1in pending on what convenience store I go to and weigh about 400 lbs. I enjoy eating good food and junk food on occasion. I want to be alive to see my daughter grow up and not have health problems. I have been lucky up to this point.

Im trying to learn portion control and healthier foods. When I go on "diets" I start off with good intentions do it for 6 months, drop 60-75 lbs then get hurt doing something and gain the weight back because of bad habits.

I have always in the past used an eliptical machine. I have a cheapy at home, However I just signed up for a membership at a snap fitness center. So now I have access to basic weight equipment.

I worked out last night:
20 mins on eliptical (1.6 mi)

chest press 3 sets of 5 @ #190
                  2 sets of 5 @ #100

arm curl 3 sets of 10 @ #90

some crunches

15 mins on a treadmill- fast walk/slow walk/cool down

I need a program to follow. The cardio I can do on my own. I need one for the weight lifting and toning part. Doing things random just doesnt seem right.

I am trying to become a police officer. I have the schooling and academy done. Now I just have to pass physical agility tests. Does anyone have a program or suggestions of a program that I could follow to help me out. I want the fat to burn from my cardio workouts and increase my endurance for running, plus gain muscle that will help me for my tests.

Please I need help.

I might sound like a broken record, but Crossfit would do you good. It's varied. It's fun. It's never the same. It's easy to stay excited about.

You'll need to scale a lot to begin with

Crossfit is a good starting point.  Also, improve your diet.  Basically, lots of water, chicken, olive oil, fruits, nuts, and veggies.  Avoid processed foods or any drink other than water.
