| Whats the best way to recover from runners knee? I got it from running down hill in some old worn out nike and i am trying to prepare for bootcamp so i need to do alot of cardio. Would swimming alot be bad for it? if so what else would be good to do meanwhile? (bike riding is out of the question, i dont have a bike) |
Swimming probably wouldn't hurt it but it wouldn't help your running much. Motrin and ice is the usual short-term regimen. I haven't had persistent knee problems, though, so I'll let the vets chime in. |
| Eh, im not worried about swimming helping my running, i just do it for the cardio. Im sure bootcamp will bring my running up to par if it needs it. I havent had persistant knee problems, just this time, running downhill was not too friendly to me and my knee has been hurting for about 3 days since, i just hope i didnt fuck anything up because that would flush any military chances of mine down the toilet. It has been getting better slowly. |
I wouldnt think swimming would hurt it any. Try it if it hurts or gets worse stop. But swimming is great exercise and you spend a week doing swim qual in boot camp anyway. Swim qual is exhausting |
