I can easily max my APFT, and regular, wide-arm, and close-hand push-ups really dont do it for me anymore. Can anyone here do good 1-armed pushups, what are the benefits/risks of 1-armed pushups, and what is a good progression for me to work my way up to performing them?

Have you tried diamond push ups? I was doing excellent with push ups until my friend was kind enough to show me those

I used to, but I heard they can screw up your elbows. Closehand pushups are just as hard and without the risk.

Get some rings. Do some ring pushups- I wager you could only do about 1/4 of your regualr max. Works the core like nothin else too...

It is going to focus the weight of your body on your triceps and doing so your elbows, i wouldn't say; don't do them but do them in moderation, in a controlled manner and not if you aren't proficient in regular push-ups.

Elevated pushups would give you more resistance. You could also try divebombers (roll-through pushups), which would get the upper and lower parts of your chest working. Clapping pushups would build plyometric power. You could also try pullups, which might help your pushups, and at the least would help you for general fitness stuff.

One-armed pushups aren't a training tool, they're a parlor trick. They don't work your chest as much as they do your hip flexors and trunk. They also put much more stress on your shoulder than regular pushups.

I second this idea.  I might also suggest medicine-ball hops, where one hand is on the ball, and as you come up you pop over and switch hands on the ball.

There's a good article on push up variations here, it says a little about the 1 arm:
