Ok, I started a diet on 04/16/07: Height: 6'1" Weight: 294lbs Chest: 52" Waist: 53" As of today 05/07/07 Weight: 275lbs Chest: 50" Waist: 50" I've been doing push ups also, could only do 3 when I started, now I'm up to sets of 10(big deal for me). Now, I'm about to start jumping rope. I'll go ahead and admit, I've never really tried to jump rope before, anyone have any advice? |

Skipping rope doesn't count. And don't be surprised if you can only do it for an extremely short period of time as your body probably isn't used to doing that sort of motion. The first time I tried, I thought it would be no big deal. Approximately 55 seconds later, my body disagreed with that statement. |

I jump rope as my primary areobic, lower body work out. It takes a little practice getting the length of rope and hand position worked out. It will take time to build up endurance. On my lower body work out days I do 3 16 min. sets with leg lifts in between. I also jump for 5 min on upper body work out days as a warm up. But when I started out 3 min was tough. Also, jump on the balls of your feet (I'm sure you already know that) ... actually had a friend try doing it flat foot and it doesn't work well |
| Thanks Frank. I've about lost another inch off my waist, and am getting close to being in the 260lbs range. My pushups have gotten much better too. I've noticed I've got more control when I do them now, and my stomach is not pulling me down like it use to. I'm almost able to do 3 sets of 10 now, were as a few weeks ago I was doing one set of 10 and only being able to do 5-7 afterwards. |
