I have a bad rotator cuff, but I also want to strengthen my shoulders. Dumbbells make it worse. It also hurts when I bench, but it goes away mid-way through 2nd set. I do shoulder laterals, but it seems like I need some type of military press so I can do heavier weights for my incline bench press. Any recommendations other than dumbbell weights? I also do rotator cuff exercises to strengthen it somewhat, and I take glucosamine. |

| I have dislocated both my shoulders and had to rehab them. What exercises are you doing for the rotator cuff? You should not be lifting heavy weights if you still feel pain. Strengthen the rotator cuff and THEN lift heavy without pain or you will just end up with an injury eventually. |
| That is only an external rotator cuff exercise. Do internal rotations as well. I personally do them at the side like that and with my elbow out at 90 degrees with cables. So I do 4 exercises total 2 external and 2 internal, 2 at my side and 2 with elbow elevated at 90 degrees. |
