Watch said I ran 6.4 miles, treadmill said 5.1. My RPE was much higher than I expected given how 'slow' I was running on the treadmill, according to the pace. Watch pace was off by minutes compared to the treadmill. Actually despite increasing speed several times over the course of 60 minutes, my watch pace remained very flat. I felt good when the run was over which makes me think I was running slow. I was hoping my watch would give good data for the run but maybe it doesn't do well on treadmills. Garmin FR935, activity was Treadmill. Watched the Boston Marathon while i ran. It was inspiring. View Quote My garmin instinct is off on the treadmill sometimes also. When you go to save the activity on your watch, scroll down and click calibrate and save. Then enter the correct distance and it'll start to work better. I still have to calibrate mine every so often on the tmill. |

Back-to-back long runs over the next two days as a final big training stimulus. Next week I'll be in Denver for a work conference and will likely lose all the heat acclimation I've built up, but hopefully being at altitude will help offset this. |

Tested out all of the race kit today. I could feel yesterday's run in my legs a bit, but overall this went incredibly well. |

I did pick up the effort a tad the last couple miles wanting to push it a tiny bit with nearly 35 miles I my legs over the past ~24 hours at that point. Even the slowest mile as a good deal faster than I thought. I would have thought all the against the wind and/or uphill miles were in the 9 min/mi range. Attached File |

Went on vacation at 181 pounds. Came back three weeks later at 177.
Didn't run at all but I walked a hell of alot almost every day. Going to have to start back up slow again, I think. Dunno if it would work for everyone, but for me... surefire way to lose weight is visit europe and don't rent a car. Take trains and walk everywhere. |

Much hotter and much windier than expected, but I managed a win. My quads are trashed, which I can deal with, but I rolled my left ankle pretty good at mile 10.75, so my run streak (1238 days of running since 12/17/2019, 12,794.63 miles) is probably dying today. |

I haven't found out the "official" time yet (it was hand-timed), but by my watch it was 9:22:50. I ended up walking the entire last 4+ miles. Partially because running would likely have lead to cramping, but also because I joined up with a 74 y/o badass woman who was finishing the 50k. |

Some champions in here. Be proud. You are doing hard things intentionally.
Running, don't have an update because I'm lazy and in a funk. Mentally detached right now but I'll work through it. Getting hot too, which makes running more sucky |

Somehow I never noticed this thread before, just saw it referenced yesterday in another thread. I’m a fairly casual runner, have been running since 2008 for enjoyment and to maintain some degree of fitness in my old age. I’m currently training for my 2nd marathon in mid June. I will likely do a 3rd in October, I’m just not quite ready to commit yet.

Yes, running in the heat and humidity can suck, but it also builds strength and speed you can cash in on once the temps drop again. I did the Twin Cities Marathon last October, and will likely either do that one again this year, or find another in MN around the same time. Will see how I feel around July 1 before deciding. TC marathon is on my birthday this year, so I suppose I should probably do that. |

Jointing the thread again this year (thanks to another thread about carrying while running), but have to admit I'm deeply ambivalent about running right now.
2021: 1377 mi, best ever, did some trail races had fun getting faster 2022: 1001. Barely beat 1000, struggling to stay motivated. 2023: 325 to date. Spending more time working out with my sons. Not sure about what I want for a running goal. But what the hell, might as well join the thread. |

The ankle recovery continues - it still hasn't given me any issues since the race, though I have this feeling that if I had to move laterally with any suddenness or speed it wouldn't hold up well. |
