Just put in a Strava request.
I mostly cycle but have been mixing in some run.
I have no idea on a goal so I will say 500 miles

3 miles on treadmill this morning/ 12 for the year.

Are y'all following any type of training program or just doing your own thing? Personally I'm doing a 10k training program through my Garmin watch.

I hired a coach not quite two years ago and have made great progress.
Prior to that I largely went off plans from books - I prefer Jack Daniels, though I know people who have done well off Hanson's and other plans.
I haven't followed one myself, but I've heard the Garmin plans (particularly from newer watches) are pretty darn good, too, and can have the ability to adjust based on how you're doing, which is quite valuable.

I'm just exercising. Not training for anything.

When I recently got into running, I would just put shoes on and go run.  I could go about 1.5-1.8 miles and that was it.  Same pace, same route, just couldn't get any better.

I subscribe to the Beachbody system for workout programs at home, as do others in my family.  Someone mentioned a newer hybrid training program, couch to 5k in 30 days essentially (the program is actually called 30-day Breakaway), where you high intensity lift for 25-30 minutes, then go on prescribed runs.  It was mentally tough to know you're about to get your ass kicked on the street after a heavy/fast lifting session.

Anyway, I would stream the runs through my headphones.  Some days are tempo runs, others progressions, others easy runs.  She walks you through form, PE, etc on the fly as you're actually going through it.  This was the first time I experienced this type of running training and it made a big difference.  I ran my first timed 5k on Thanksgiving 2022, and finished with a time of 25:42.  Pretty proud of that.

Since then, I started a 10k training program through my Garmin and really like it.  You plug in some basic data points like how often you are willing to train, your goal time/pace, etc and it spits out a program.  I run 4 days a week, and it's similar to 30-day Breakaway where I run tempos, progressions, easy runs, long runs, etc.  It tells me the times and paces to run...I just activate the activity and go do it.  It's a 16 week program, I think I'm at week 8 and have been consistently doing the runs to completion so I'm not sure if it's adjusting/'learning' or not.  My watch is a Forerunner 935.

Anyway, I really enjoy the programmed running exercises.  It gives me something to focus on and feels like I'm really training and not just running to run.

Not really.  Just a goal of 1000 miles this year.  Anything else is a bonus.  If I'm motivated enough to sign up for a half or full marathon, then I'll train for that.

I take Sunday's off at the moment.  Last week I took Sunday and Thursday off.  I just run each day until my body says, time to rest.  I also vary my pace.  Wednesday's and Saturday's are HR runs, so they are slower.  Everyone is different though, so you do what your body can handle and rest when it needs to rest.

Thanks! I started the Garmin coach 10k workout and it called for a 70min run today . I was dreading it! Haha

Very cool!  Tomorrow starts week 9 of the 10k program on Garmin Coach for me.  Let me know if you have any questions.  I've been pretty happy with the training thus far.  I think my 10k is scheduled for March, but I need to check and verify that.  Goal time is 53:00, which is lofty (I think?), but that's my goal

Are you in the ARFCOM group on Garmin Connect?

I'm fairly close to your pace. My goal is set for 50 mins. I did an 8k last year and finished at 41.35 but felt like I was going to die haha . I didn't train much over 5k distances but tried it anyways .

I'm not in that group. I'll have to try and find it.
