Okay, I hit a major plateau in my running routine.  Can sustain 8 minuter pace for what seems indefinitly.  So I tried to mix it up a bit.  Last evening I was sprint for 1/2 mile, walk for one minute.  Repeated this for 1.5 miles total run not walk.  I was wasted from it.  So I go for a regular run today and I am full of energy, better pace and feel fucking awesome.  What is the mechanism here?  Figured I would not been able to run 1 mile I did 3 today and want to do more but time is short, work tonight.

You've discovered high intensity interval training. Improves Vo2 max  wonderfully. Lots of good literature out there on it, do a google on it.

Well Whatever it is, my running is way better.  Distance is improving easily while doing this interval training a couple times a week. Huge improvement, like something was unlocked.  Only about 2 weeks of this and I don't have enough time to run the distances I want.  Feels great.
