Okay, I hit a major plateau in my running routine. Can sustain 8 minuter pace for what seems indefinitly. So I tried to mix it up a bit. Last evening I was sprint for 1/2 mile, walk for one minute. Repeated this for 1.5 miles total run not walk. I was wasted from it. So I go for a regular run today and I am full of energy, better pace and feel fucking awesome. What is the mechanism here? Figured I would not been able to run 1 mile I did 3 today and want to do more but time is short, work tonight. Edit to add: 33 years old 226lbs 6'4' |
You've discovered high intensity interval training. Improves Vo2 max wonderfully. Lots of good literature out there on it, do a google on it. |
| Well Whatever it is, my running is way better. Distance is improving easily while doing this interval training a couple times a week. Huge improvement, like something was unlocked. Only about 2 weeks of this and I don't have enough time to run the distances I want. Feels great. |
