My progress ground to a halt when I started weight lifting in the summer. Just getting back to racking up miles and I’ll end the year at the 500 miles mark. Not great, but better than the zero miles I achieved in 2021. 2023 will be even better.

Looks like I am 100 miles off my 2021 pace... that means about 0.3 miles /day average LESS. No way I can make up 100 miles this month with my busy schedule and the worsening weather.

Yesterday my exercise time was cut short

Ran some good intervals. First time in a while. Think I need to start training for something.  Not sure what.

That's awesome!  What was your time?  Or do we not do that in this thread.  I noticed isn't common.

I'm often ignorant w/r/t running etiquette. Yours must have been smoking

Thanks!

Even among other runners I typically don't offer PRs, but don't mind telling if asked.

I also got sick the day after the marathon and have just been doing single miles since you maintain my running streak. Finally started feeling better today. Ran with my middle daughter for this one.

Today was the last "good weather" day for the foreseeable future. It peaked at 42 and was about 40 when I went for a walk today and had become mostly overcast. Yuk.

I need to move to Florida.

While I was somewhere between miles 24 & 25 of my last marathon an ambulance passed me on my left (on the course, going the direction I was running. Just before mile 26 I saw the ambulance crew getting ready to load someone.

I hadn't heard anything more about it until stumbling across this article.

half regretting not going to outside, but it was -30 with the windchill.  With the right gear it's doable but once I get sweaty a stop would be a real problem.

Thanks. Honestly this thread probably got me to a 1000 this year.  400 fewer miles than last year.   Going to have to do something to change things up.  Maybe get out to more trails.  Maybe some MTB. Definitely need to get some weight training in to my life.  Need to find some true motivation

maybe I'll try to break 20 in a 5k

Happy New Year everyone.

Congrats to everyone who hit and/or surpassed your goals. It's been fun watching the numbers climb.

I ended the year at 621.6 after logging very few since September. It turns out that I really did have an Achille's injury, interstitial tears, which are still much less than 100%.  See you in the new running thread, which Commander_Keen has so graciously started.
