Low 40s, raining, but I took back 2nd place on a Strava segment and PR'd my half mile. I'll probably hit double digit tomorrow. I'm doing the Goggins 4x4x48 starting Friday night

Nice! Except for that Goggins thing - that's just crazy.

Finally a sunny and warm day; I got out on the road. I waited until the afternoon due to early meetings. It was worth it. Tomorrow and Friday look to be the same forecast.

One of the few things I think Tulsa has over the OKC area is running trails, whether paved or dirt.

Wife and I started on 12/1.

Between -20 weather and off and on quarantines.... I'm not sure I'm at 100 miles yet.

Whatever. 9 months, 900 miles!  Too easy, drill sergeant!

Have back to back long runs this weekend. Three more weeks or aerobic base building than I ramp it up biggly for the mountain race and ultra this fall

I did this for The Woodlands Marathon - virtual half. I logged 13.12 for my distance on the site. I'm still trying to talk my wife into the full marathon in Hawaii in June. Failing miserably due to their covid policies.

Thanks man. 3 runs left. I've been doing a few runs with the fast crowd, then a few with the family to back the pace off and not burn out. 8pm 12am, and 4am left to go.

Well, I'm done. It was just as mental as last year. I did put a few learnings into effect. I made sure to stretch before each run, but more importantly I stretched afterwards. I also took time to foam roll a good bit so I wasn't as sore. The whole sleep thing still sucked. I ended up with just over 6hr of sleep in 48hr. Last year I did a few rucks, but stuck with running this year. I ended with 48.3mi at a 9:54 average pace.

Everybody should try it once just to know you don't want to do it again. I just hit 40. I did it alongside a guy in his early 20s and another that's pushing 50. We all had different learnings from it. Example:  I learned that youth is truly wasted on the young. That dude was clicking out low to mid 7 minute miles, all while giving tennis lessons between runs.

Side note: any recommendations on reflective gear? I wear a headlamp and some reflective gear that is built into my clothing in the morning runs but was hit by a dumbass rolling though an intersection. I saw it coming so jumped and was only clipped but need to at least up my visibility...

Glad you're ok!

I haven't used one myself, but I know several people who swear by the Noxgear Tracer 360 vest.

Thanks, I am glad she at least stopped and was really apologetic. I told her to be better on the roads, rural roads in the early morning lots of people roll them since there is no traffic - vehicle or foot. And I will check these out, may pick one up!

I didn't feel like doing anything on Sunday after the half on Sat. Then, the puppy ate my shoes. I can't be too mad for several reasons, and I was overdue to replace them. So, I spent yesterday looking for replacements. I ended up ordering online what I had been wearing. I wore a very old pair this morning just to get some miles.

I felt good yesterday and started to attack that Strava segment again. As soon as I hit the uphill portion my left quad reminded me that I had done the Goggins challenge over the weekend. Today was much better though. I still didn't feel like doing any mileage, but I did set a 1mi PR right before setting my deadlift PR.
