I need to get a weight vest for dips and pull ups. I can't use the belt. Last time I did the chain rolled across a hip or ab muscle and it took months for it to feel better. Any suggestions on which one to get? I'd like to be able to go up to at least 50 lbs.

I don't  know. I am just wondering how you did that with the belt?

nm I was going to suggest a dip belt w a chain.   I've used one for 2 years w no major issue but occasional bruising

Not sure how I did it but I don't want to have it happen again. I always hated how the weights would swing with a belt anyway. The vest seems like it might work better

A vest will work, but you'll exceed its capacity eventually, probably soon on dips.

IronMind sells a belt that uses straps instead of a chain and is rated to half a ton. It's something like $70, but they make very good stuff.

I always just hold it with my knees to keep it from swinging.

I'll check that out. I've always had good luck with their stuff.

I have this vest.  When I need to go over 90lbs I use the chains from my bench and drap them over my shoulders and change the weight in the vest to get any weight I want.

A few years ago I bought an 80lber off ebay.  I'm pretty happy with it.  I also have a 40lber.

I borrowed a 20 lb vest last night for rope climbs and pull ups. It was a big difference especially on the rope.

Pure hell. Failed the first time. So many people underestimate it.

OP I bought a weight vest just for the CPAT. It was from amazon, I hate the way the strap around the bottom is, it doesn't hold. If you want a quality weight vest you are going to shell out some coin.
