I want to start the Power Clean section of starting strength. But when I try and power clean up the bar and get it in the rack position there's no way that I can get my hands on the bar and have it resting on my deltoids. or even my fingertips. my forearms are too long.
Is it possible to use reverse grip like a curl to do cleans?I |

No, there's no way to even come close to doing it properly with a reverse grip. In fact, to even ask the question means you probably don't understand how a clean works no offense.
Your hands should be barely touching the bar, elbows straight forward. Go watch videos from mike burgener on teaching the clean. On my phone sorry for brevity. |

On a clean, the bar needs to come up in a straight line, not in a curved path like on a barbell curl. You also need to learn the front rack position, or you won't be able to catch the bar when the cleans get heavier. You need to develop flexibility in your forearms by stretching them. Try holding the front rack with a broomstick or something light, get your fingers as close as possible, and hold the position. |
