So the owner of my company is going to get me either a elliptical or a treadmill to help me on my journey to lose weight. I've never used a elliptical, but I hear they are better for your joints. The befit of the treadmill is that it folds up. Which should I get ? Which would you get?

Neither. Get a row machine.  That or an exercise bike.  Treadmills are ok once in a while if in a pinch but I don't recommend them regularly, they are not the same as being on regular land. The elliptical forces an abnormal stride. Again, ok occasionally but I wouldn't use it regularly.

I would get the elliptical. It's easier to hang clothes on.

Get some weights they take up less space.

You should really ask them if they would send you to a low calorie cooking class or something like that if they are willing to spend the money.

Concur. Rower and bike > elliptical or treadmill any day of the week. (running is great, but there's a free running machine outside your front door ;)
