My Deltoid has been twitching for the last three days. I played some volleyball Saturday night, which I normally don't do.

I worked out last night, and it is still twitching like a SOB.

I've been getting good sleep and more than enough water.

My diet is in check as well.

I normally just suck it up when this happens, take some Ibuprofen, but was wondering if there is a way to get rid of them?

I take Naproxen (basically a strong aspirin) for arthritis but it doesn't do anything for muscle twitching so I doubt that aspirin type products will either.  Quinine has been used for a long time to treat muscle twitching in legs but the FDA has now forbids it's use for that. However I've found that drinking a bit of tonic water ever few days stops muscle twitching for me.  FWIW tonic water taste like s*** to me so I only drink a sip every few days but it seems to be enough.

Let me know if this works for you.

dont listen to the guy above me.

If your diet is in check, and you're still having fasiculations or myoclonic jerks, there might be a Cervical spine issue... Unlikely, but possible.

If it persists or is associated with any other worrisome things, get it checked out.

Uh, is that a serious condition?

I often get twitching in my delts, and my quads.  Delts I always thought was related to my stress levels but quads seem like they twitch all the time after a squat workout, especially when I do front squats.

meh, irritated muscles can cause random twitching.

rarely is it a big deal unless it persists, interferes with shit, or has some other associated neurological involvement...

You mean like a bulging disc or a rib head out of alignment in the bottom of the C spine?

On the rare occasion that I get ongoing muscle twitching, I have noticed that a banana's worth of potassium can help.

Yep, when I was younger I used to get a lot of cramps and muscle twitching went along with that. Potassium and electrolytes. My dad always said potato chips (I guess for the sodium), but he his  genetic freak and can eat pure crap and never suffer physically through weight gain/HBP.

Thanks for all the replies.

I've heard about banana's before, but forgot and was getting annoyed and impatient by it.

Today it seems to have stopped, hopefully it doesn't reactive after the gym tonight.

It is just muscle fatigue/stress induced.

Darktide, there is  definitely something wrong with me, but just not neurological.
