I've had a Smartwool half zip for general use/ base layering/ ect. for about a year now.

Holy frick boys, is this thing great for working out. Keeps me warm, wicks moisture, and I don't stink.

I want to get some T-shirts for lifting at the gym, but they're at least $50

I sweat like a horse with just a cotton t shirt and shorts.   Wool would cook me.

You're thinking of traditional wool.

Thin merino wool wicks away moisture just as good and or better than any under armour shirt I own. It really adapts to where you're at/ what you're doing.

I have merino wool socks that I use for working out and also for when I am out hunting and you are speaking the truth. Didn't know there were also t-shirts. My feet sweat like crazy and these wool socks are the best I ever had. Can't imagine t-shirts.

You'll sweat worse in cotton than in merino wool

Have you ever benched in one? I refuse to bench in UA or other "wicking" materials as I can't get a good set in my upper back in them- by the second rep I slide largely out of position and by third I feel like I am flat backed and about to hit the hooks.

Flat bench I have no problem.

It doesn't matter what I wear on dumbbell bench, I seem to always find a way to get off centered.

I'm hoping the T-shirts are like my half zip and not as "slick" as the UA heat gear or the like.
