I started back lifting after a 10+ year hiatus. I bought starting strength and read it all. Also read the PDF sticky and I gotta say, I wish I had found starting strength way back when. I love it!
I am 6'1" 250-255. My goal is to get to being strong again and get back to looking like I did when I was 25. Squats 3x5 295lbs Bench press 3x5 205lbs Dead lift 3x5 275lbs I don't think weight lifted is too bad for not lifting any weights in forever. I can definitely see how this program will get me stronger. |

Today's workout was the workout B from the PDF.
Squats 315 3x5 - I saw a 20lb increase from Tuesday. Pretty sure I won't be seeing that big of an increase from workout to workout on squats. Standing Military press 185 3x5 - Firs 2 sets were easy. Last set kicked my butt. Pendlay Rows 185 3x5 - Can definitely tell my back is weak. All in all, I think it was another good workout. Weighed with my clothes and boots on and I weighed right at 260. My goal is to get down to around 235-240 and stay there. I think that should be pretty easy. Waist size is 36". Want to try and get back to 32 or 34 waist. |

I went back and reread the the sticky up top, I bean doing 3 sets of 5 on dead lifts. Overlooked I was only supposed to be doing 1x5. That could explain why my lower back got really tight and took forever for it to relax.
I have been making pretty good progress. I seriously have never enjoyed lifting as much as I have the past 2 weeks. |

Lots of baked chicken and lean meats. Steaming my vegetables. Get some red meat in your diet, baked chicken is for bodybuilders. I'd look into something like Carb Back Loading or go paleo and plan your dirty cheats for post lifting. Don't be scared of meat. Chicken is fowl. What are your goals and people will help you. |

I just want to get strong again. I am 6'1" and weigh 260. My body fat is 20%. Be that as it may, there's no reason to only eat lean chicken. That was just on the advice of my doctor. He told me to get into shape and what to eat. I have been doing a lot of reading since I started working out again. One thing that has been killing me is that I am constantly hungry. Just like when i worked out before and got up to the weight I am now. Will definitely take ya'lls advice. A man can only eat so much chicken. |
