So I joined sparkpeople and have been exercising a "whole" 5 days and eating well, thing is I'm content with 1300-1500 calories a day-full, no cravings,

do I really need 1700-2100 calories?

If you're trying to lose weight I'd say no. ETA: You DEFINITELY need to eat less and better. That's a lot of weight at that height.

If you're like me and workout and don't eat much and don't weigh much... it's counterproductive. But damn if I ain't hungry. *shrugs* I've been forcing myself to eat.

You want to eat 300-700calories less than what it takes for you to maintain your weight.

That low will work for a while. As you lean out you will have to eat more to stay productive.

that's kinda what I guessed, I'm really busting it and have lost 5 lbs since last Thurs.  But I know as I transfer from Obese to overweight to toning that my exercises and intake should change.

I am a former fatass, so I have a seemingly retarded slow metabolism, and I am carb sensitive. I find if I eat around 1600 calories a day of good protein and fat and green veggies, I lean out a bit. Im 6'4" 238

I find i'm carb sensative as well, prob because I lost 75+ lbs about 10 years ago to sugarbusters/ adkins...I later found that 75 plus some some this go round at a life change has been lean protien and veggies

1500 is probably below your BMR.

If you move at all during the day and/or exercise you'll need more to support normal health.

If you want to be anything other than skinny-fat when all is said and done you'll need to eat more as well.

I would hope so.

Interestingly, on the new Weight Watchers plan, they don't even use calories to directly compute points.

They use fat, carbs, fiber & protein.

Even with regular PT, its not as fast as I would like. I just want to lose about 25 lbs by 1DEC.
