Tell me about them...Are they worth using and why? I'm doing a Warrior Dash late this summer and want to do the Tough Mudder next summer. I'm pretty fit and am looking for something different to use as a tool.
This one came up in another thread and I was considering it http://www.weightvest.com/ ETA: I'm a little drunk so I just ordered one. I guess I'll provide the review. |

I have a 20lb weighted vest. I love it when I am in shape to use it.
http://store.ironwearfitness.com/20-lb-univest-short-professional-weighted-ve.html I bought about 5 years ago when it was on sale (after christmas sale for cheap) and I am glad I did. I didn't run or anything in it cuz don't run but for all my PT stuff. Those really seem to mimic plate carriers. The one I got is probably more comfortable... |

Mine looks very similar to yours, and I can't stand working out in it. YMMV

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Really, this is a very comfortable vest thought I've not tried on any others.... If I were to get another one I'd probably get one of the ones the OP got just from how they look |

I just wear my plate carrier on runs. Doesn't that put a lot of strain on your back??? i can't speak for GetDown, but not for me. the first few times i was sore all over from the added weight. I must say this: after working out a couple times a week in armor (along with regular PT), swat training is a breeze. i'm not as tired, my groups are better, i'm noticeably faster, etc. |

That's part of fitness when you have to run in that gear on ops. I'm out now, but still keep my fitness up (if not better) as a goal/stress reliever from dealing with civies. |

The obstacles pose now really challenge and provided a measure of relief from the hills. If you really want to train for jump into a muddy pond with your clothes on and go run some hills. The Tough Mudder is an entitely different animal google some reviews and read up Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I'm just trying to find some different things to use to keep things interesting. I'm also going elk hunting in CO this fall and we're packing everything in on foot. It's hard to replicate mtns and altitude in NE, but I can at least add wt. I want to start with the vest and wind up with my pack. The vest seems like a good training tool. |
