Okay I know you guys aren't bitching, but if you ever think you've had it bad, watch this video.
Back story:

In August 2007 Jamie Gillentine dove head first into the ocean. But
he didn’t know it was a sand bar. Jamie Gillentine shattered his 6th cervical vertebrae. Spinal fragments were lodged in his spinal cord.

Jamie Gillentine lost all feeling and movement from his upper-chest
down to his legs. He had some arm movement but no hand dexterity. Here’s
a video of his recovery which took several months.

I had a friend that I used to game with that lived in North Carolina, his nephew used to play with us from time to time.  He did the exact same thing at a lake, dove off of a swim platform on the lake and landed head first on a tree stump.  It was very sad, he was fucked up for quite a while.  His parents ended up moving out by me in California several years later and I went over to say howdy.  He was mostly recovered but one of his hands was wierd as a result of it.

Someone always has it worse.  I complain from time to time but I always know things can be worse.

Holy shit that was inspiring.

ETA:  I wonder what they attribute his recovery to??  Nerve regeneration or the brain finding alternate routes to send those nerve impulses.
