This stuff any good? I tried some of the liquid ones from the store. They taste ok. I didnt like Muscle Milk, too fatty and the potassium is too high for me. Too much screws with my heart. ie palpitations.

Quoted: I've never really found an RTD I liked, always too many fillers and extras. I say stick with the tried and true 5lb tub of ON 100% Whey and the shaker cup of your choice. Can those be mixed with water or do you need milk? Reason i was also attracted to the other was the types of protiens. then again all the web links are more like advertisements than reviews. Maybe its the hype that helped. They do make a powder version though. |

Quoted: Like I said, too much bullshit added, cheap fillers, salt, etc... Compare to ON Whey. http://www.optimumnutrition.com/products/images/100Whey-gs-facts.jpg Thanks for the comparison. What fillers does the other one have? I dont know what to look out for. Where can I buy the stuff you recommend? |

Quoted: They're throwing in things like egg, sodium, and milk concentrate to bump the numbers because it's cheap. Avoid GNC, look for a Vitamin Shoppe in your area for better local prices or shop online. Well I was impatient and was already at the mall so I hit GNC It was like $22 for a 2lb of "Delicious Strawberry" ––retch–– I retched because well, basically it was like drinking milk and milk grosses me the hell out. But I did get it down in the name of health. |

I love milk so I might be a bad judge on flavors.
I rotate to keep from getting bored with the taste and my latest favorite is a 50/50 mix of chocolate and cookies & cream. Somehow it comes out tasting like an iced coffee. ETA: I don't hate the strawberry but it does get old pretty quick. |

I don't care about excess carbs, in fact they are necessary for energy while you are in the weight room and for recovery. |

LOL I was just glad it wasn't the $35 it was originally. I might go for the cheaper stuff next time if there is little difference. Actually I may need to rethink this whole thing. It looks like I will need to be taking in a sh*t ton on cholesterol no matter how I try to increase my protein. My body naturally produces plenty, I need to avoid adding more whenever possible. |

Quoted: IMHO the whole cholesterol thing is quite nebulous. Some people act as if the only way you get cholesterol is diet that has a lot of cholesterol.LOL I was just glad it wasn't the $35 it was originally. It looks like I will need to be taking in a sh*t ton on cholesterol no matter how I try to increase my protein. My body naturally produces plenty, I need to avoid adding more whenever possible. From what I have read, and believe, is that your cholesterol level depends principally on genetics, relationship between blood sugar and insulin, and chronic inflammation. The only way for you to know how your body reacts and processes cholesterol is to have it monitored. If you do have cholesterol problems, I would first do what I could to cut out carbs, mainly things like processed flour crap, and sugar while keeping up with your exercise regime. This does not mean you should not eat fruit, or whole grain stuff. If your cholesterol drops, increase your dietary cholesterol like red meat and egg yolks while cutting out the carbs. If your cholesterol doesn't change, you know what the problem is. Also, things like omega 3 fish oil, and olive oil are good fats. Eat a lot of it. Oatmeal also not only has protein, but it has fiber and has shown to naturally reduce cholesterol levels. Keep in mind though, that your body needs a certain amount of "bad" cholesterol. Just stuff to keep in mind. |

Thanks. My overall score is always just around 200, its mostly the bad stuff though. Well it was, I am getting blood work done soon to see where I am at. Last time I was tested was a year ago well before I started daily intense cardio and improved diet. I do the oatmeal everyone says keep the carbs low. 2 bowls of oatmeal is 60 carbs right there. I think I will go the extra carbs for my hearts sake. I am very active so I am not too worried about it. I think I can try and keep my carbs 75-100 grams a day. 50 is going to be near impossible. I have at least 2 tablespoons of olive oil in my food a day most of the time. Its mostly genetic with me I think. No medicine they ever put me on works. Thats why I decided to do more cardio, get more active and be more cautious about what I eat. I dropped 15lbs of mostly fat, my heart rate is excellent. I wil wait for the blood test to see where I am now though. as always I appreciate the tips guys. edited to fix cholesterol count |

Quoted: 300 is pretty damn high. If you are on drugs, and eating oatmeal, I would try to cut out 100% of the carbs and go either atkins, paleo or Mediterranean and see what that does. Thanks.
