I NEED to increase my vertical jump 2+ inches within the next 4weeks. Right now I barely can hit 17 and I must hit 19,soon.
I do a lot of running and strength training but I don't work my legs out all that much with weights. I can't squat anymore(that's a long story) We run 4+ days with BIG Hills and do speed work 1 day and swim 1 day as well. I am probably logging 30+ miles a week. Any ideas as to what I can do to increase my vertical jump Thanks |

How about jumping to get better at jumping? Search youtube for videos on effective verticle jumping form. My buddy is a strength coach and with a lot of his athletes that haven't trained under a decend coach he can get a few extra inches out of their vertical just from teaching them how to jump.
It sounds like you have no control over your own training, but incase Im wrong, analyze specificity of your training in regards to your goal. A vertical jump is a very fast and powerful movement performed in less than a second. Running for miles is requires much less powerful muscle contractions, or else you couldn't even finish the run. Simply put you cant run miles at the same pace you would sprint 40 yards. The only people who are going to end up with a higher vertical from distance running are freaks of nature and people who arent even doing any vertical specific training, and even the last one is debateable. |

Was told we are NOT permitted to squat. What the fuck? That's pure communism. ...or faggotry.....hell maybe both! You have no idea! I have been doing weighted lunges, wall sits and box jumps. As for actually just jumping I have been working on that as well I work on my technique a bunch as it just doesn't feel natural for me to jump for some reason. |

Under the gun to perform a certain task, and not allowed the one tool that will help you complete it sounds weird to me.Quoted: Quoted: Was told we are NOT permitted to squat. What the fuck?
