Anyone use any in your precision rigs? I just ordered 240 rds of their 168 gr HPBT match .308 and I'm wondering what kind of accuracy results people have been seeing. $188 seemed like a sweet deal if it's good match ammo

I would like to know the answer as well.  I am building up a 308 Tikka T3 to compete in PRS style matches.  Would be great if Freedom Munitions ammo could work.  Did you guys get the new loads or reloads?

As soon as I can, I'll post results. I'll zero it with gold medal match and test with gmm and freedom side by side

Can't speak to their 168 grain HPBT. However, I ordered their 147 grain FMJs (Reman., first and last time I try to save money that way) just to plink with and had 2 hard primers.

I was surprised, as I have never had any issues with the rifle I was using. I contacted them about the issue. They paid for me to ship the remaining ammunition back to them and replaced my entire order.

Which one of these major ammunition manufacturers has customer service like that? None. I'll continue shopping with Freedom Munitions.

I've been using them for plinking ammo for years and never an issue.

Looking forward to hearing about their better .308 ammo.

Any update?

I just ordered some .308 175gr match (reman) to test.  But it will be a few months before my rifle is ready to shoot.

Nothing really. My scope still hasn't arrived but I shot 20 rounds of it at 50 yds with irons. It performed well and I think it'll be MOA at least at 100 scoped

The only time I've purchased factory .308 was for my wife to take on a "NRA Women on Target" guided Elk & Mule deer hunt in the Swan Mountains of Montana about 3 years ago. They didn't allow the using of reloads for some reason so I purchased her some 168 grain Hornady Superformance factory ammo.  I was quite impressed with it's performance but I much prefer reloads that I can tailor to each of my rifles.  While you can pick through different types of factory ammo to find what gives the best performance in a given rifle, I still reloading

Finally went to zero the rifle. Got on paper with the Freedom stuff and got close to zero. Finished it with the FGMM, and it zeroed great, but my groups actually seemed to be tighter with the freedom stuff. I'm gonna do a better test soon and post results

I haven't shot their precision stuff but I have shot thousands of their 5.56/.223 and have had three major malfunctions. All three were thought to be over charges, one was so bad it broke a nickle boron bcg. Have also shot thousands of their 9mm and have never had any problems. Have shot a few of their .308(not sure what load) and they did what they were supposed to. I didn't shoot any groups or test them in anyway though.

Well I'll try to let you guys know after I shoot some. I bought 480rds of Match HPBT 168gr 308 reman and 480rds of Amax 168gr reman. We will see which my 700 likes better. I have my rifle, rings, and mount so still haven't even got my optic yet. May be a few weeks at least.

ETA - Also...I called them and learned their 168gr HPBT Match Bullets are new factory Nosler Custom Competition 168gr HPBT...for those that are curious.

I have put over 100 reman 155 A Max rounds from FM through my MK 216.  My rifle loves this stuff, delivering great accuracy when I do my part.  I ordered more and got some 168 grain and 178 grain AMAX reman from them to see what my rifle likes!

The reman of that round shot sub MOA out of my 16' rem 700 (AICS stock, no internal mods)

I bought a ton of it after testing twenty rounds of it.

good to see it is decent. i just picked up an DPMS LR-308 and may need something better than the ZQI and Perfecta they have at wal-mart.

I've gotten sub 1" 5 shot groups with the 168 SMK reman's. It has worked so well, I just ordered several of their new manufacture in different bullet makes to see how they do. I ordered up some of the 168 SMK new, 168gr AMAX and various 175's as well.

Here is an 8 shot group of their 168 gr SMK REMANUFACTURED ammo out of my Savage AXIS (bison gunworks 25" 308 1:11 barrel). All the head stamps were mixed, but still pretty consistent. The two outsiders could have just been me.
Without that top right shot, it would have been a .9" group or so.

I am shooting 155 and 168 grain reman AMAX rounds out of a Ruger Precision Rifle and getting sub 1" groups all day at 100 yards.
