Ok, so I have my JP scope mount on the way.   I was reading the specs and they recommend 29 inch pounds for the rail, and 24 for the rings.   Now, where do I find a decent in /lb torque wrench that I can dial in to those numbers that doesn't cost a ton of money?

I wouldn't usually say this, but Harbor Freight. Their torque wrench was actually rated as one of the most accurate against other big tool names.

Another option.  I found one at local bicycle shop.

I picked up this kit for helping mount scopes and such.  So far its done a great job mounting 2 scope.  You can find it on Amazon a bit cheaper though.

I use the Borka Tools torque driver. Add a brownells magna tip handle to the tool roll and you've got a great tool kit to throw in the range bag.

I bought the Wheeler premium score mounting kit from Amazon.
For $104, I got a $50 torque wrench plus all the other goodies.

Anything listed in this thread will work. You are not torqueing aircraft components. Any of these wrenches, even if a "little off" or out of calibration will still get you close enough.

Same here and it works great. Easy to use and well made for the job. Just don't forget to return it to zero before storage and it will out last you.

The smallest one.  It is labeled as being for inch pounds and calibrated that way.  I'd have to go to the barn and look in my shop, but pretty sure it is 1/4" drive.

Geez, it is on their website and Google found it in five seconds.  Use 20% off coupons (just about every magazine and newspaper in America.  Or wait till they put it on sale for about half price.  As stated above, they are accurate, despite the other junk HF sells.
