you can get a hell of a scope in that price range for that distance. any upper end vortex, nightforce and even a used S&B can be had in that price range

Unfortunately prices here in the UK are high, I was thinking of a Trijicon Accupoint 3/20x50

There are some Kahles models in that price range.  Optics are superb.  I have a lower powered older Kahles Helia CL in 2-7x36 with #4A reticle for hunting.  It is by far the best optical clarity of over two dozen scopes i own, many of them rather pricey.  

For your rifle you will want more magnification perhaps a 3-12x50 might be high enough.  They also have very, very stunning 6-24x scopes, but they are likely to be just a bit over your stated price limit.  You owe it to yourself to own at least one Kahles scope, at least someday, if not now.  Prices on Kahles in UK may be better than in US.
