I'm looking at getting an higher end scope for my bolt rifle but also want it to serve on my AR10.
I've got a 20 MOA rail on my bolt gun (.308) and am looking at the Vortex HD 4.5-27 as my optic. I also want to use this on my AR10 which has plenty of capability so I want to get the most out of both guns. Please recommend an rail. I've got numerous LaRue mounts which have served me well on AR platforms but have never tried one on a bolt gun, This mount would ideally work on both. Thanks. |

Are you looking for a QD mount? The issue you'll run into is that a mount high enough to work on the AR will be way too high on the bolt gun. What I would do is get a riser, something like the Badger 22moa riser for the AR so that the actual mount you get can be lower and will work better on the bolt gun. I'm more partial to ADM mounts. The Recon-SL has a 1.190" centerline which seems shorter than most. There may be better QD mounts out there for what you're trying to do.
