So this is my rifle, I have a Kahles 624i on it now and have sent a few dozen XM193 rounds down range to 700y. The issue is when running speed drills, such as Chaos drills from 300-600y I was noticing the FOV was slowing me down. I believe I was shooting on 10-12x. I think I am at the point where I need to put this scope back on a bolt action rifle and pickup something different for the AR15. What scopes are you guys using and with what reticles? I like the NF ATACR F1 4-16 TReMoR3, but not opposed to spending less. Even the NF NSX 3-15LV interests me. Let me know your thoughts on what optics you prefer and why. |

In the process of putting a Vortex PST FFP EBR-1 MRAD 4-16x50 on the 6.5 Grendel I just finished. Waiting on my Aero mount. I have this same scope on a Remington 700 308 and it has been fantastic for the money. I have a SFP 2.5x10 PST in an Aero mount. Start with the scope canted left a hair. As you tighten the rings, it'll rotate the scope clockwise a little bit. |

I should have mentioned in my post that I won't be shooting anything Vortex, but a red dot from vortex or any company might be an option. |

I prefer smaller more compact optics on my AR-15s, even the precision ones. I run a March F 3-24x42 and think it's about the perfect size. 24x comes in handy every once in a while for shooting paper and reading mirage.
I think the bushnell LRHS is one of the best optics for the application and comes in at a nice price point. On the opposite end of the price spectrum, the S&B ultra shorts (3-20 and 5-20) look perfect on a precision AR. Fwiw my rifle is larger and heavier than yours but still prefer only a 24oz optic. Your preferences may vary. |

Your preferences may vary. The Kahles is a bit heavy, and I would prefer something smaller. I have been eyeing one of the new March offerings as well. I had planned on picking up the LRHS a few months back, but decided to wait and see what the new Bushnells are like. My goal is to have this setup where I feel comfortable taking it to one of the PRS Semi auto matches 2017 season. |

I much prefer FFP, so I think I would skip the NXS. |

Just not a fan of anything Vortex has to offer currently including the Gen II Razors. The AMG is about the only thing they have that I might consider. Though I have an ATACR F1 I am also not a huge NF fan either. FFP and SFP don't matter much to me as long as the SFP is of lower magnification. Quoted:
You could go with the Leupold MK6 3-18 as well as they are small and very light. The MK6 is the ideal size and also has my TReMoR3 reticle, but the Steiner T5 3-15 and ATACR F1 4-16 are also similar in size. I may head over to a local shop and checkout the NF 4-16 with TReMoR3 and see how it compares to the MK6. |

I think more practice and adjustment of magnification are in order. Your scope is a great one and the reticle is personal preference. More practice....I am in the same boat.
I just went from a 2.5-10x44 NF on my grendel to a 4-16x42 S&B. The extra power seems to help for the longer precise shots and the second focal plane started to piss me off....I might as well of been running a fixed 10 power. ( I do a lot of hold overs and unders ) Good luck, PRS is a ton of fun. |

A match every month, sometimes as many as 3. As of now I have been able to practice every week out to 1340y and intend on continuing the weekly practice. Been shooting Kahles scopes on my match rifles for nearly a year now and love them, but feel this rifle needs something shorter, lighter, and faster. Though as of yesterday this scope is now sitting on my shooting partner's match rig until his scope can be repaired. |
