Ok,
So I'm wondering which would be the best all around stock for my 18" build. ACS or MOE Rifle? Thoughts? |

The ACS is a nice stock. I have run it, and ACS-L, STR's and CTR's. For a precision rig that you want carbine like adjustability on the ACS (or STR) is what I would go with. The ACS-L is a little more narrow, if that is what you are looking for.
On my current 18" 6.5 Grendel build, I bought an STR to go on it because it and the ACS share the same width. I got the STR for a good deal, but had I kept one of the ACS's I would have gone with that and not looked back. |
| Well, reason I ask is that I have a couple ACS's put up, but the lower I'm putting the precision upper on was my old service rifle comp lower with an A2 stock. I'm not wild about the A2, but wasn't sure if I wanted fixed or adjustable. I guess if I'm not giving anything up by using the ACS, I may as well go with that. |

If you're replacing an A2 stock, then you'll have to get a carbine buffer/tube/spring.
The MOE Rifle stock will go replace the A2 stock without any changes (i.e. buffer tube assm). I liked the clean look of it for a 308 build along with the storage. How adjustable do you want? Just length? Or cheek weld height as well. If you want the latter, the Luth AR was another that went on my short list. I just happened to get a good deal on the MOE Rifle stock and figured I'd wait to see what I learned with that stock first. |
