I am not an engineer, nor do I play one on TV.

I am not asking about whether this has merit necessarily. I am fully aware that there are a ton of chassis/stock options out there that have this functionality already (DBM plus folding). I'm not brand new at this, however I would guess this is a very complex question, the task would have a high probability of failure (and ruining a perfectly good stock).

I'm asking for any engineering minds in this subforum, if tasked with converting a Magpul Hunter 700 stock to a folder:

1. Is it even possible with the design?
2. If so, what material would be needed?
3. How much work/labor?

This is primarily hypothetical. Thanks in advance.

Grab a Manners folder and take a look at it.  There is a lot that goes into it to make it lock up solid and a hinge that won't dig in your palm.

You would have to cut through the back end of the bedding block to accomplish that.

Welp...there goes that then.
