For price point and function... it will be difficult to surpass a brake from Ross Schuler. $45.00 delivered to your door, before you can get the funds to him. Great brake, amazing turn around times for your specified brake!! DK ![]() This post nails it. I think it was a week from email/order to arrival. |

Here's an article on 223 muzzle brake test, yeah I know it's not for a 300 RUM but the results should be similar.
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/11/jeremy-s/556-muzzle-device-shootout/ As a side note, last week I was shooting my Rem700 AAC SD with a Saker Muzzle Brake. The guy to my left was shooting a 338LM with a huge 6 port brake. The Saker brake worked so well, the guy to my right moved to the opposite of the 338LM because my brake was blowing all the crap off his bench. |

If you are going to shooting something like a RUM, then you are going to need a "Tank Brake" for max effect.
M11 & M41 http://precisionarmament.com/product-category/muzzle-devices/muzzle-brakes/ 4 Port Muscle Magnum http://www.piercisionrifles.com/brakes/ Armalite Brake http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=30108120KIT Different strokes for different folks, some are all about function, some are all about form. If you want max recoil reduction on a big magnum, you need the max number of ports, and the max amount of surface area, for the gasses to interact with. I run a PWS on my .30 cal and below rifles, but I would not want to run it on a RUM. For that I would a very large 3 or 4 port brake. Best of Luck, M Richardson |

My buddy put a Gentry Quiet Muzzle Brake on a 338 RUM, Rem 700 in a AICS stock. Performs very well. Im getting one installed on a 300 WBY mag. Word of caution on a design like that. It is ported 360 degrees, which means there is a very good chance of it kicking/throwing dust and debris from the downward vented gases if you are shooting prone on natural surfaces. Personally, I am going to stick with a design that will not vent anything downward to reduce the chances of that happening. There is a reason that the Military has redesigned everything they run to eliminate any openings on the bottom. Best of Luck, M Richardson |

Here's the one that I run on several rifles.
The Kahntrol Solutions Muzzle Break It is nothing short of amazing. |
