| I recently replaced the extractor on a Remington 700. However the new extractor is now preventing me from chambering a round. I can force it in, but it damages the rim of the case. Does anyone know what the issue is or a fix? I'm thinking I need to grind down on the new extractor. |
Are you sure it's in correctly? Never had one that did anything close to that, all popped in and worked fine. Shouldn't have to grind anything.

| And if it was put in incorrectly , chances are you bent the extractor so that particular extractor will never be any good - they are cheap enough get a new one and put it in right - it will just snap in to the right place - don't feel too bad most of us have done it once or twice - I keep a couple of spare extractors in the rifle case as well . |
