I need everyones recommendations on a reasonably priced bolt action to shoot 500 to 800 yards with and be able to hang my 30 cal cans off the end of.

I own a Remington 700 in 270 that I use to hunt as well as a Ruger American 308 that I won from a raffle.

I own 6 AR's and plenty of other semi autos.

I can shoot my AR's out to 600 all day long without a problem but they aren't as quiet with a suppressor as a bolt gun.

My 270 is set up for hunting and the Ruger feels cheap to me.

I'm wanting something that can shoot 800 as well as have a solid aftermarket for upgrading later.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Second on the 6.5 creedmoor tikka, does everything you mention and does it well. You may also want to look at ways to change your 270 so that it fits multiple roles

Find a 1990's vintage Remington 700 VS in .308.  Cut barrel to 18-22" and thread.  Change everything else later.  I did a lot of shooting with my old 700 VS (before I sent it to GAP)  as a stock rifle and I spent money on whatever cheap .308 ammo was available.  Shooting to 500 yards with a stock rifle and cheap ammo I learned quite a bit.

Lots of other good options out there as well now.

I'll also recommend the Tikka. They just flat out shoot. Amazing rifles for the money.

Tikka in 6.5CM is a great buy.
The action on the Them is smooth as silk, Triggers are very nice as well.
You can Pick up Match Ammo for $25-$27 a box.
6.5CM is great for up to 1200 or so constantly.

I have a Tikka in 6.5CM for my son, been a very good gun.

2nd choice would be a Savage 10BA in 6.5CM
