Are they good or junk?

I use an EGW on my 700. They are to spec and work fine.

If you're on a budget I'd suggest the Weaver Tactical base, it has a built in recoil lug (which is a good idea since long action usually equals heavier recoil), and it has full length picatinny slots.

I have used them on hunting rifles to save weight. They are aluminum but as long as you arent regularly changing out optics, it should hold up just fine.

I like the EGW rails nice and light and hold up well on my 308.

I've used the EGW rails.  I'm sure they get chewed up, but I tend to leave things in place.  I've never had any issues with quality control,
but others have.  At the same time, I've had other respected vendors ship me unusable parts.

I wouldn't try to save $50 on a $3000+ rifle, but If you are working on a budget I'd give them a try.  Worst case, you'll have to return one.
