I just bought a B & C A2 for my AAC-SD that is already inletted for a PTG bottom metal. Question: those of you that have or have used PTG brand of DBM bottom metal, what do you think? How is the construction, durability, and finish? Considering the fact that it is less than half the cost (without the AICS mag) than direct competitors I'm somewhat hesitant, though the reviews I've read are generally positive. This rifle will not be subjected to multiple deployment environments where brutality of my weapon is status quo so I'm not worried about having something that is top of the line, hardcore indestructableness. Rather it's a range toy that will be taken good care of. Also, does the PTG have a similar footprint as, say, Badger, CDI, Surgeon or other similar DBMs so that if I were so inclined I could go another direction and still be okay as far as a good fit of the existing inlet? If you have pics of your rifle with the PTG DBM I'd love to see them.
Thanks, |

No complaints from me. I've shot hundreds of rounds without issue but it hasn't been used hard yet. It was a perfect fit into my Manners T4A that has the Badger M5 inlet. I'll crank it into some barricades within the next month to see how durable it is, but for the price, it's a bargain.
I've only used AICS 5/10rd mags. |
| Just better hope you have no problems because they have the worst customer service on the planet. I made the mistake of buying their bottom metal and some genius sent me an unfinished product. It was missing a pin and spring necessary to hold the mag spring in place...multiple call and email all went unanswered. They couldn't give a crap if they screw you. Check their Facebook pages and online reviews...don't expect much if you need to contact them |

Not resolved from PTG. David Kiff never had the decency to respond to my emails and his "staff" refused to answer emails and every time I called the person I needed to speak to conveniently wasn't there. This went on for over 6 months. PTG is a disgrace. My spring would always fall out leaving no pressure on the mag release. I had the opportunity to see another PTG bottom metal at the range and it had a small pin and spring installed where the release lever pivoted in the bottom metal. This kept the spring nice and tight.. I'm sure Im not explaining this very good but the piece they sent me was unfinished. It wasn't even milled for this pin and spring. It was a completely useless
I ended up buying CDI and their customer service is even better than their bottom metal. The PTG bottom metal ended up downrange where it belonged. I know I'm not the only one who donated money to PTG.......what a bunch of scumbags |
| I have the same setup as pictured above on my 700P. On their site it says "drop in/may require very minimal inletting, usually sandpaper will work".......my ass. It took me a few hours to get it inletted to my liking. Also it took forever to get here. It was ordered and took nearly a week to even process my order. I called and was told I should have opted for the upgraded shipping. Yeah, because expedited shipping speeds up order processing. Once I got it installed I was pretty happy. The AI 223 mag is floppier than a set of 80 year old tits in the rifle though. |

I purchased one for my Savage Hog Hunter that sits in a B&C stock. I am extremely happy with it, esp for the price. I did have to do a considerable amount of "inletting" to get it to fit. I actually put the DBM on a mill and removed some material. Also the .308 mags seem to fit pretty snug, but I have never used any other brand DBM so I cant compare. When I ordered, I called in to check if it was in stock and if they had the mags I wanted. Girl on the phone seemed very kind and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again. |
