Not a big deal...

I have one of their T4A stocks.  Several months ago, I ran a bunch of questions by them via email, and they always responded promptly.  Then back in April, I asked for and got a quote on some parts.  Three months later when I called today to order the parts, they gave me a price over the phone that was more than 2x what I was quoted via email.  When I pointed this out, they honored the original price without any hassle.  I then asked to add an additional small part to my order, and when I inquired about the extra cost, they said 'they'd throw it in, no charge"...

Righteous in my book.

This.

I bought my Manners T2 from Stocky's.  When I got it, it was damaged and had the wrong inlet.  I called Stocky's on it and they said they couldn't do anything about it, but they refunded some of my money.  They told me to call Manners directly.

I called Manners on Monday of the next week.  They sent me a shipping label, told me how to package it, and I sent it off that evening.  I included my barreled action and bottom metal so they could check the inlet.  Wednesday, I got a call from Tom Manners.  I let him know what was going on, he was very understanding and accomodating.  He then called me back when they got it, after having looked it over.  They re-skinned the whole stock, fixed the inlet, and bedded it for me, for free.  I had it back by the next week, all priority shipping, all free.

Tom and Co. have my business absolutely anytime.  They bent over backwards to make things right, went the extra mile, and did it fast.

They are awesome. I had Mr. Manners personally call me and ask me some questions about a stock I sent back for mods and upgrades. Wanted to ask for my permission to "fix" other items free of charge.

Manners is definitely top notch. I have 3 T3s and a folder. 3 of the 4 with mini chassis systems which work great. Great products and service.

So who has the best price on a Manners T5? Kind of iffy dealing with stockys after reading that. Bullets.com customer service blows as well.

Better CS than their McMillan counterparts. When you call McMillan to tell them they built your order wrong and cut for the wrong metal they tell you you go back to the end of the 5 month wait list.   Btdt. Twice. Milled and steel bed to the rescue.

All this stock talk is new to me, however firearms are not. All this feedback is appreciated because I don't want to get stuck with SHITTY service. As of now, Manners will get my money. Just trying to find the best deal :)

I've had excellent CS from both companies.

Just curious, how did they mess up 2 of your orders? With the way they do the order confirmation and make you sign off on it in writing before they start building the stock, it seems like it would be pretty hard to screw it up.

Had a mixed experience with them.  HUGE lack of communication, both internal and to the customer, though they did a pretty good job of making it right once they discovered it.

Placed a "build a stock" order in Jun of last year (Savage 110 custom build).  Expected 8-12 weeks, per their website. Unexpected need at the 12 week point to send in my barreled action for bedding (with no indication on their website that that was a thing), so a delay of a couple weeks to send that in.

Called in early December.  Not even started.

Called every two weeks after that.  Was told my stock was "next in line."  That went on until the end of January.  Over the month of February, I got told three times that it would be done in a day or two, and once that it was done and shipping the next day.  When I didn't get any shipping information in two days, I called back, only to be told it hadn't been started yet.

Got frustrated and talked to a manager (Matt).  He understood my frustration, told me they had some huge turnover in their administrative and Savage gunsmithing staff that caused the disconnects, personally went and moved my stock to the front of the line, then offered me a free mini-chassis on my next build for my frustrations.  Once they identified that there was an unhappy customer, they definitely bent over backwards to make me happy, so no complaints about that, but I had to scream pretty loud to be heard.

The stock is everything I wanted/needed, but it was a PITA to get it.

My experiences with them have been very good.

My T4A with mini chassis took just over 5 months from when I placed the order to when it shipped, back in 2013.  I knew it would be a long wait but the stock was perfect when I received it.

While it was being built I contacted them a few times and they answered all my questions promptly.  I don't think I'd look anywhere else if I wanted another stock.  Its good to hear that they make it right if they happen to make a mistake.

Thomas Manners is the man.  He knows how to run a business and treat customers.

One of the few true gentleman in the business.
