does anybody have a picture or actual specs of the original's the Vietnam Era Remington M40 rifles...??? specifically the stock and especially the Buttplate...
I am trying to reproduce one... and having a little trouble locating a picture of the Aluminum Butt plate that was used.... I wish I would have taking pictures of the USMC Scout Snipers Association Commemorative Issue, that I once owned, however back then I never thought I would ever get rid of it... So I never took any pictures of it... I really miss that rifle, and now I am going to try to start gathering parts, as my money allows, slowly but surely so that one day I can try and rebuild a replica... I am not going to go all out and try and get the correct stampings, and all that jazz... just a close enough replica that I can shoot and hunt with...
I ordered a butt plate off of ebay that I thought was pretty close but now that I have it in hand I am not so sure... can some boby help me out here...? if you have a USMC Commemorative M40 or a replica that you have built up yourself, and or have pics of actual Historical M40's that show the butt plat can you please post... I would like to compare to what I have to see if I have one close enough or if I need to still be on the hunt for one... thanks in advance and I hope I can get some help here... |
