| I have a Remington 700 SPS 20" with the X-Mark Pro. Bought it in January of this year brand new. I was planning on upgrading the trigger based on what I read before purchasing, but to be honest I think the factory trigger feels good. I have it set at 2 1/2 lbs. I don't really see much praise for this trigger, am I crazy or did I just get lucky???? I think it has a crisp break, no creep. Will the Timney without a doubt be even smoother? |

The stock trigger on my 700P was much heavier and rough. I replaced it with the Timney 2.5# and the difference was quite noticeable. Maybe try to find somebody near that has one and compare? Also, after the recall shit, I'm not sure who to trust about Remmy triggers. So I'm glad I already had the Timney. |

If you think the x-mark pro is crisp, the timney will blow you away I even replaced my 2.5# walker style pre-xmark remington triggers with timneys and it was some of the best money spent on those guns. I ordered mine straight from timney over the phone and was assured that the 1.75# factory set trigger they were sending me was 100% safe. My hunting rifle has a timney set at 2.5# and is the definition of crisp. My new remington ultimate muzzleloader has the new x-mark pro trigger on it so I do have a good reference point for comparison. I won't change that one out because, well its a muzzle loader and is good enough to shoot a deer with. |

I must be lucky as well. I have an old X Mark trigger from 2007.
I adjusted it down to 3.5 when I first got the rifle. Recently had the rifle re-chambered, bedded, trued, etc., and the smith turned it down to 2.5# while he was fiddling with the rifle. It feels just as good as my Sako at 2.5#.

You guys who have been able to adjust your XMark's down are lucky. I've had two different ones in my hands (one was my own). We just took that damn screw out and it decreased weight by just a few ounces on both rifles.
IMHO, there is 0 comparison between a Timney and XMark. Now, a properly tuned Walker could be compared to a Timney, but never an XMark. |

It was on a very early model 700. I typically can get them under 2# and I keep them in the gun. On newer Remingtons I throw the trigger away before I shoot it. A friend of mine still has the x-mark trigger in his 700 SPS and after shooting a couple of mine with Timneys he is making the switch. He thought the x-mark trigger was good enough too, until he found out what good really is. My Timneys are typically set at 1.5# for varmint rifles and 2# for hunting rifles. |
| I have a Rem 700 XCR hunting rifle with a timney and just bought a new 700 sps tactical. The timney made a great improvement on the XCR, but the sps x mark feels pretty darn good so I don't think I'll replace it just yet. Probably will eventually for the heck of it though. |
