Anyone tested accuracy with plain ole CCI SV? Or is everyone using match ammo?

One of 2 Vudoos at the match getting some offhand and sitting in.  The target was a full size steel IPSC at 220 yards.  If you look real close at the top picture, just forward of the puff of smoke, you can make out the grey line that I am 99% positive is the bullet.  Not bad for an old man driving an old iPhone.

Eley Match had excellent accuracy and very good speed and SD at 1070fps and SD of 8. Here is 10 shots I shot as fast as I could work the bolt. First shot after a couple of pulls through the bore with a bore snake, what I did between each different ammo, was at 11 o'clock. I shot 5 with the chrono on after these but not for group as i just hit my steel swingers. Just wanted numbers.

SK Rifle Match shot very good too. 1068fps and SD of 7. Here are 10 shots also shot as fast as I could work the bolt. The 7 o'clock was the second shot. Not sure why it went out there.

Lapua Center X shot great too like Eley Match. Again Very good numbers with a velocity of 1072 and an SD of 4. Here is a 10 shot group again with first shot at 12 o'clock and a 5 shot group I shot with the chrono on it. After shooting the others just at the steel I wanted to see how the rifle shot with the chrono on. Appears the Magnetospeed doesn't effect the Vudoo LOL

Heading out after the rain stops on Friday or Saturday to test them at 100 and 200 yards. That will be the determining factor.

I didn't take pics today, but I did get some chrono #'s.  My zero held from my last session and was spot on @ 50y and still shooting bug holes.  I was shooting the Wolf Match Extra, and 10 rounds over the magneto sporter gave me an avg. of 1065 (20" barrel) SD 9 / ES 30.

Got dope out to 320-yards

Those targets aren't helping the hole burning in my pocket.

There's too much variation lot to lot -- so it depends.  I found the exact opposite with the Wolf -- that the WME shot better than the Target... ymmv

It shot decent with the few boxes of Eley Club I had laying around. Anxious to try some Lapua Center X, it seems to be a favorite.

What I really love is the ability to mimic my comp gun and train in my back yard.

This is very tempting.  It makes me consider buying the action and building one up.

Anyone build their own from a Vudoo action?  I have switch barrel thoughts on the mind.   A short stubby and a longish light varmint.

These are awesome, but way out of my price range at $1,770 for a barreled action.

One week to go and I’ll have mine finished:

Vudoo barreled action
MPA tungsten BA Comp chassis
Jewel Trigger
Vortex Razor Gen 2 3-18 in a Spuhr Mount

Should be fun and make a good trainer for my PRS rifle that is setup nearly identical.

And the price savings on ammo...I figure it pays for itself in only 13,000 rounds or so. Haha

Finally remembered to take some pics of my new Vudoo at the range last night.

16 Inch Vudoo
AI Chassis
S&B 5-25 Gen II XL reticle
Thunderbeast 22TD can
Ckye Bipod
Tubb Trigger

Spent some time prone, off low sticks and standing sticks. Also put 50-75 rounds on our new KYL Hostage target out at 100 meters. The small head was a challenge if I didn't stay on top of my wind calls. Hitting a 2 MOA target at 200 meters was easy with Eley Red despite a 5-7 mph wind coming from 4:00. Hopefully I can get some time off work to start some lot testing at the Olympic Training Center. So far it has turned in some outstanding groups at 50 meters, easily cleaning an International Smallbore target.

This Sunday I will do a little shooting at 600 yards. That little bullet doesn't have much oomph left at that point so seeing impacts can be difficult.

Took the Vudoo up to the 600 yard range after todays IPSC match.  After 6 stages of revo, my hands and brain were tired.

At 405 yards (20.2 mil elevation, 2.7 wind) it shot about a 3-3.5 inch group.  Nice and round.  Held a touch too much wind and I needed a few clicks more for elevation.

At 615 yards (37.4 elevation, 4.0 wind) I managed about a 10-12 inch group.  At least with the 4 that connected.  Absolutely no clue where one of the shots went nor do I know which shot out of 5 missed.  Even with Charlene spotting, hits on steel and misses in the dirt were impossible to see with the mirage.  I hoped painting the targets white  would help, but it wasn't enough.

The magnetospeed T-100 strobe didn't work too well with the angled/hinged target and only lit off a few times.  No biggie.  Next time I will use a 12 inch diamond target on conveyer belt.  This "ABC" target is about 12 wide and 18 tall.

If you are asking about mine.  18"

I shot it again yesterday.  SK Match Ran a consistent 1.1" at 100 yards on 5 shot groups.

Eley Club and Eley Target both turned in groups with more variation.  Some up near 2" and some down well below an inch at 100.  Conditions weren't great so I'm mostly chalking yesterday up to getting used to the rifle.   Next time out I will take the LabRadar.

I had no problem at all ringing an 8' plate constantly at 250yards and about 7mil of elevation on the scope from a 100yard zero.  I'm not really doing 50 yard testing because my interest in this rifle is 100 - 300 yards or so.  If it wont shoot longer range then it just wont shoot for my purpose.

You can use a pretty thin sheet of steel for a backer at long range with subsonic 40 grain bullets.  I have a 2'x 3' piece of 1/4" that I use so I can see where the misses went.  1/4" is way overkill, but it's what I had on hand.  I just paste a target in the center.  The bullet splashes on the paper are visible through a 10x scope at 500 yards.

Just tossed this together, its set up and feels exactly like my centerfires, and the only difference Is the shorter bolt stroke.  I mulled over it for a while, but wanted to shoot something more similar to what I shoot in centerfire matches.   haven't even take the 223 rounds off the side of the stock yet aha.

Agreed.  I wouldn't say mine will shoot circles around my CZ455, but it shoots very well.  I mostly got it for the feel though.  It feels identical to my centerfires if everyday except recoil and the length of the bolt stroke.  For me it was well worth it.  I just got a new manners for a match rifle so I had an extra T6A and that took some of the sting out for me.  The same weight/balance and trigger for me were important.
