Since I started shooting, about a decade ago, I had in my shooting software the scope has to be as close to the barrel as possibe.Today we had the our first local .22 benchrest competition, where as usual I had an "honorable" third place. There are too many varables in presition shooting, but today I asked one of the most experienced .22 bench shooters to identify what am I douing bad. One of the things he told me was that my scope is mounted too close to the barrel. This was in fact shocking for my shooters knowledge, and seems to be I lived with this error for years. As my scores look better at 300 m benchrest with 308 and 223, I came home to see my larger rifles. And yes, the scopes are not as close to the barrel as in my .22 brno. Please share your experience and information about scope hight with me. Thank you. |
