I have a Stevens Model 62 which is identical to the Savage 64. Bought it from a friend several years ago and it came with one magazine which is the ONLY one I can get it to work with. I bought a lot of 5 new mags online and I have serious problems with ALL 5 of them. The six mags look identical except the new ones are blued and the old one is well-worn and looks polymer, though it's too heavy to be plastic.
Some of them, I cannot get more than 4 - 5 rounds into the mag, it jams up bad. And with all of them, the gun jams when trying to load from the magazine, every single time, usually displacing the bullet from the casing and making the round look "bent". Do I have a bad batch of magazines? And did I end up with a couple commie-state mags? I'm stumped. |
